Parish Symbol
April 17, 2000 |
| Sr. Catherine Martin, a member of the Mount Carmel Sisters from LaComb, La., served on the art committee. After the committee did a thorough study of St. Elizabeth Seton's life, Sr. Catherine was commissioned to design the parish symbol. This hard carved version of the symbol was made by Bob Ballard (Gallery Genesis, Tampa, Fl). The center of the heart is the Eucharist, the center of Elizabeth Seton's life. The thorns incorporated on the heart represent her sufferings; the wheat draws our minds to the Eucharist. The five flowers represent her five children. EAS are her initials. |
