I.   Schedule of the Confirmation Preparation Program

    ~All those seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation must participate in a 4 month preparation class beginning September of their junior year of high school.

    ~Registration for the Confirmation Prepartaion Program will take place in August of every year.  The date and time of registration will be published in the August bulletins.

    ~The classes will take place on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of September, October, and November.  There will also be one class on the 4th Sunday of January.  Each Class will begin at 4:00pm and end at 5:30pm.  

    ~There will be a retreat for all Candidates on the 2nd Saturday of December.

    ~Each Confirmation Canditate will be interviewed for 30 minutes by the Confirmation Coordinator in the month of December.

    ~Confirmation will take place in January or February of ever year.

 

II.  Requirements to Receive the Sacrament of Confirmation

    ~Each Confirmation Candidate must have already received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Penance, and First Communion.  
    ~Each Confirmation Candidate must provide a certificate for the reception of Baptism and First Communion.

    ~Each Candidate must be at least 16 years of age at the time of Confirmation.

    ~Each Candidate must have completed the Confirmation Preparation Program and have been approved by the Confirmation Coordinator to be ready to receive the Sacrament.


III. Prerequisites for Admittance Into the Confirmation Preparation Program

    ~Each Confirmation Candidate must provide a certificate of reception of the Sacrament of Baptism and First Communion. 

    ~Each Confirmation Candidate must have completed 24 hoursof High School Level Religious Education over a period of at least 2 years, or attended an approved Catholic High School for at least 2 years immediately prior to entrance into the Confirmation Preparation Program.  

               ~This requirement may be waved with the consent of the Pastor in extraordinary circumstances.

    ~Each Confirmation Candidate must personally desire to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, meaning that they must be admitted to the class by their own free will and choice.

    ~Each candidate must be at least 16 years of age on the date of the next Confirmation, and must have the intention of being confirmed on that date.

 

IV. Attendance Policy

    ~Each Confirmation Candidate must attend at least 5 of the 6 classes offered during the program, or a suitable substitution approved of by the Confirmation Coordinator.

    ~Each Confirmation Candidate must attend the Day Retreat on the Second Saturday of December, or a suitable substitution approved of by the Confirmation Coordinator.

    ~The parent of Each Confirmation Candidate, or a suitable mentor must attend the first class on the 2nd Sunday of September.

    ~The sponser of Each Confirmation Candidate must attend the class on the 4th Sunday of January.
