ST. ELIZABETH SETON CATECHETICAL/YOUTH MINISTRY – RELIGIOUS EDUCATION/CCD

Religious education classes are offered for students in grades 1st through 11th. Those 8th – 11th grade will be in the Confirmation Program 2023/2024 school year. Catechetical Ministry and Youth Ministry come in different names: Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD), Catechism, Faith Formation, Parish School of Religion (PSR), and Religious Education to name a few. The purpose of these programs is to assist our parishioners in educating their children in the faith. Parents are the first teachers of their children in the ways of faith and we are honored to support parents, children, youth, and all parishioners in their lifelong journey of faith here at St. Elizabeth Seton Church. The program is open to non-Catholic School students from grades 1st – 7th grade. First Communion and Confirmation Sacramental preparation classes also fall under Religious Education/CCD program.

Registration is required for Religious Education/CCD and Sacramental programs here at St. Elizabeth Seton Church. Please note that if your child is attending a non-Catholic School, CCD classes are required in order for your child to receive First Communion and Confirmation.

On Sundays from 2:45-4 p.m., the parish conducts religious education classes for students in grades 1st through 7th. Classes meet in the Fr. LaFleur Family Center.

CCD, 1st Communion, and Confirmation Registration packs are available in the back of the Church and the Church Office throughout August. Registration deadline is Thursday, August 31, 2023.

NON-PARISHIONERS – PERMISSION LETTER FROM HOME PARISH NEEDS TO BE ATTACHED TO REGISTRATION

All materials for our CCD programs have been approved by the Diocese of Lafayette and are in compliance with the recommendations of the National Catechetical Directory.
