The Year of St. Joseph
(August 16, 2020 – May 1, 2021)

150 years ago, Pope Pius IX declared St. Joseph as the Universal Patron of the Church.  In light of this anniversary, Bishop Deshotel has established a year of St. Joseph in the Diocese of Lafayette from August 16th of this year until May 1st of 2021.  During this year, we as a diocese will meditate on St. Joseph’s life, befriend him in prayer, and seek his protection.  Be on the lookout for events celebrating this year in your parish, in one of the 13 Church parishes named for St. Joseph, and across the entire diocese.
