Our Patroness

In addition to being our Patroness, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton is one of the keystones of the American Catholic Church. She founded the Sisters of Charity — the first American religious community for women; opened the first American parish school; and established the first American Catholic orphanage. All this she did in the span of 46 years while raising her 5 children.

Her feast day is celebrated on January 4th, and she is the patron saint of the death of children; the death of parents; widows; in-law problems; and those persecuted and/or ridiculed for their religious beliefs

PRAYER IN HONOR OF ST. ELIZABETH SETON

Lord God, you blessed Elizabeth Ann Seton with gifts of grace as wife and mother, educator and foundress, so that she might spend her life in service to your people.  Through her example and prayers, may we, whose Faith Community is dedicated in her honor, learn to express our love for you in our love for all your children.

We ask this through Christ, Our Lord.

Amen.
